Job Overview

Flux Marine is seeking a Director of Manufacturing to lead a team in developing, implementing, and optimizing production processes, ranging from DFMA reviews to line layout and fixture selection. The Director will work together with the design, test, and QC engineering teams to continually improve and iterate manufacturability, system reliability and production throughput. The Director will also be responsible for adopting Lean Six Sigma principles to reduce waste through the production process. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong technical understanding of the product design and manufacturing/assembly processes for electromechanical systems.
  • Provide DFMA feedback to design engineers in alignment with company priorities and timelines
  • Drive the team to meet production gateways on time and within budget. This will include line layout, tooling selection, capital equipment selection and commissioning
  • Develop and maintain a roadmap of vertical integration for manufacturing processes
  • Develop and track KPIs to report on progress and status of initiatives to management group
  • Develop improvements to internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines
  • Lead the manufacturing engineering team including their recruitment, development, and evaluation
  • Drive the adoption of Lean Six Sigma principles across the production and fabrication process

Skills & Experience

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of professional engineering experience
  • Demonstrated experience in developing manufacturing lines
  • Experience with ERP system implementation
  • Strong project management skills
  • Familiar with ISO standards
  • Experience with high voltage systems is a plus
  • Experience working on DoD and federally funded projects is a plus
