We are searching for a talented individual to join our team as Communications Manager, where you will play a vital role in managing media relations and supporting our Head of Media Relations, Finland. As Communications Manager, you will play a key role in driving media engagement and shaping Stora Enso's corporate narrative. Your primary responsibilities will include fostering media relations, building and maintaining strong connections with key media outlets, and creating compelling content for our Finnish social media platforms. You’ll create press releases, contribute to managing our corporate website, and proactively identify exciting story opportunities by networking internally.
In addition, you’ll provide valuable support to the Head of Media Relations, Finland, and collaborate across teams to develop and implement effective communications strategies. This is a dynamic, hands-on role where your creativity and strategic thinking will have a direct impact on Stora Enso’s communications success.
You will be based in Helsinki and you will work closely with a number of stakeholders across the organisation. You will report to our Helsinki-based Head of Media Relations, Finland, Ingrid Peura. We apply a hybrid way of working, meaning we work approximately 2-3 days/week in the office.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone like you – a communicator with a Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field, and hands-on experience in media relations. You’ve worked closely with media outlets and know how to craft messages that resonate with the right audience. Your written and verbal communication skills in both Finnish and English are top-notch, and you're able to adapt your tone to suit different platforms and situations.
You excel at building relationships, both in person and online and have good interpersonal skills as well as a natural ability to network. You're comfortable navigating Finnish social media platforms and have experience in creating engaging content that captures attention. You’re also familiar with communications tools (press release distribution, social media, website, intranet) and have a knack for basic image editing.
With a solid understanding of the Finnish communications landscape, you pay attention to the smallest details while staying highly organised. Whether you’re working independently or collaborating with a team, you thrive in dynamic environments and are ready to take on new challenges.
