Job Overview:

Teledyne is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Design Document Quality Inspector to join our dynamic team. As a Design Document Quality Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of industry standards, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 

Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly examine engineering models, drawings, specifications, schematics, and other documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Teledyne and industry standards.

  • Verify soundness of models, completeness of dimensions, appropriateness of tolerances on drawings, ensuring alignment with project specifications, industry standards and design requirements.

  • Confirm that all drawings adhere to relevant industry and military standards, as well as Teledyne's internal guidelines.

  • Work closely with design engineers, mechanical designers, drafters, program and department managers, and other stakeholders to address discrepancies, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate necessary revisions.

  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation of checked drawings, revisions, and approvals, ensuring traceability and accountability.

  • Contribute to the overall quality assurance process by identifying and addressing potential issues in the design phase, minimizing errors and rework downstream.

  • Proactively participate in process improvement initiatives, providing insights and recommendations to enhance efficiency and quality in the drafting and design processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a combination of education and work experience.

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in drafting checking within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

  • Proficient in CAD software (Inventor, SolidWorks, etc.).

  • In-depth knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Familiarity with all applicable ASME standards.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to spot inaccuracies or inconsistencies in technical drawings is paramount.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.  I

  • Proven ability to analyze complex engineering drawings and provide solutions to ensure compliance and accuracy.

  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range:

$49,830.00-$66,550.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
