We are looking for a motivated, process-oriented Infrastructure & Systems Engineer to support and manage virtual machines (VMs), hardware, software, and network infrastructure across both internal and customer-facing environments. In this role, you will work closely with IT, QA, and Development teams both domestically and internationally to build and maintain test and production environments, troubleshoot issues, and ensure a seamless workflow. This is an entry-level role with up to 3 years of experience required, which may include internships and co-op assignments in a related field.  This is ideal for candidates eager to develop a broad skill set in IT infrastructure.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • VM and Server Support & Maintenance:

    • Manage VMs for Dev, QA, and Customer Support teams used for software development and testing.

    • Manage VMWare templates and bare-metal Clonezilla images for engineering and commissioning.

    • Oversee VM and networking equipment backups (routers, switches), ensuring they are current and easily restorable.

  • Test Environment Management:

    • Set up and manage test environments using internal networking tools.

    • Build test beds to simulate customer environments for QA but also as training opportunities for internal teams.

  • Collaborate & Troubleshoot:

    • Help troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues.

    • Provide workarounds and solutions to ensure continuous workflow within the team.

  • Customer Site Systems & Expansion:

    • Assist in building and configuring new production systems and expansions of existing systems.

    • Build and test expansion hardware for customer sites to meet scalability needs.

  • New Release Testing:

    • Assist in testing new hardware, firmware, and software releases to ensure performance, compatibility, and stability before deployment.

  • Network & Firewall Management:

    • Maintain and support network configurations including firewall and switch management.

    • Manage DMZ configurations and partner/demo system access for customers.

  • Cloud & Infrastructure Improvement:

    • Analyze and suggest improvements for the existing infrastructure with forward-thinking solutions.

    • Assist in implementing AWS/cloud solutions and configuration management tools like Ansible.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Entry level with 3 years of experience in infrastructure, systems engineering, or IT operations.

  • Familiarity with VM technologies like VMware and tools like Clonezilla for server imaging.

  • Basic knowledge of networking equipment (firewalls, switches, routers) and DMZ management.

  • Experience with testing hardware, firmware, and software releases.

  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS) or configuration management tools (Ansible) is a plus.

  • Basic knowledge of Docker is beneficial but not required.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

  • Strong documentation skills with ability to follow and create manual and automated processes.

  • Scripting experience a plus
