We are now looking for a 

 

Senior Engine Control Specialist

 

to join our team working for a better future. The position is permanent and the preferred location is in Kampen, the Netherlands.

 

What you will be doing
 

In the position of Engine Tuning Specialist Specialist you will be responsible for a wide range of Software Tuning activities on electrical Engine parts of our customers. You will work in Wartsila’s biggest Distribution Centre for all our Maritime and Energy related spare parts of the world. Our customers rely on our A-class parts and it is your main responsibility that all electrical Engine parts are Tuned, edited and updated for our customer specific requirements. You will find, retrieve, upload and edit tuning software of ordered electrical engine parts with required software & processing the calibration.

 

As Senior Engine Control Specialist, your work will focus on these responsibilities: 

 

  • You release production orders out of the tuning workflow, Check tuning specifications for ordered electrical engine part that was brought to the shop by logistics.
  • You find the right tuning software by using the automated system, Intranet documents or database. If not available, asking Technical Services department to upload necessary software.
  • Contacting Engine & Propulsion Automation to solve issues for propulsion systems.
  • You check and adjusting spare parts for 4 stroke engine automation, propulsion automation, 2Stroke engine automation, and Electrical automation.
  • Tuning and configuring the engine part as specified to suit the customers’ needs and avoid over speeding.
  • On occasion, modifying software on old-model parts by converting old information, checking parameters, modifying if necessary, uploading to part and send modification to colleague for storage in parts database.
  • If necessary, tuning manually using tools such as calibrators and digital multi meters for print circuits.
  • Testing and simulating the functionality of the component and perform a quality check. 
  • Powering up of parts in stock to prevent data loss and develop the maintenance process for stored parts in cooperation with TS.

 

To be successful in this role we expect:

 

  • Electrical experience in combination with affinity or interest on engine electronics, turbines or other rotating equipment.  
  • We work with a wide numerous of Automation Control Devices. Any experience with the following brands is seen as a big advantage: Unic C1- C3, Wecs 2000-9500, Deuta, Despemes, Spemos, Tufmon, Kongsberg, Sentry, LCS, Many PLC, SW download Kit, Flex temps Units, Woodward 721-723+, Viking V25-V35, etc.
  • Experience as a (Field) Service Engineer, Superintendent, or Service Support Employee is seen as an advantage.
  • Any Experience with ERP systems is seen as a big advantage. We work with SAP. 
  • You are accurate, systematic and a true problem solver. 
  • You speak English fluently.
