Job Description
The Regional Controller role requires a highly efficient, detail-oriented, proactive individual, Big 4 Accounting experience preferred. The Regional Controller works closely with each local General Manager and Regional Vice President to provide monthly financial statements and forecasts along with analyzing profitability, cash flow, and other financial data. This role manages the financial and administrative activities at the assigned properties to assure compliance with corporate policy and procedure.
Based in our Lombard, IL North American Headquarters, reporting to our Vice President of Finance.
Responsibilities:
- Provide status of financial performance of the company’s operations through the collection, reporting, and interpretation of key financial data.
- Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget process and assist the General Manager in the preparation of the budget and forecasts.
- Prepare or assist in the creation of financial projections used to make strategic and tactical decisions designed to improve financial results.
- Ensures adherence and compliance with company policy and procedure while also providing counsel to the General Manager and on-site management team.
- Report directly to Finance but has dotted line responsibility to Regional Vice President of Operations. Works closely with the Regional Operations team.
- Prepares and coordinates daily reporting, monthly closing, and other reporting requirements as required at a local, regional and corporate level.
- Assist the RVP and General Manager in the analysis of operational data (KPI’s).
- Candidate must develop a central understanding of the profitability drivers of the Organization
- Manages fixed assets, insurance costs, and parts/equipment inventories, all multi-million dollar commodities
- Involved in providing new business and contract re-procurement support to operational and business development personnel.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience
- Big 4 Accounting/Auditing Experience or Equivalent preferred.
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent required.
- 3-6 years experience in assessment of financial performance required.
- CPA and/or MBA preferred. IFRS Experience is a plus.
Skills and Knowledge Required
- Ability to analyze financial results and assist on-site management with the development of action plans to maintain performance levels and profitability expectations.
- Proficiency with standard computer programs. Knowledge JDE is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately with little direct supervision.
- Detail-oriented and results-driven.
- Ability to solve problems in a practical and pragmatic manner.
Travel requirement outside of the immediate area: 10-20%
