  • Your mission at Climeworks is the effective acquisition and meticulous management of public funding, which are vital for Climeworks and the success of the entire direct air carbon capture (DAC) industry. The Public Funding and Compliance Manager will secure significant public funding sources, ensure full compliance with all grant requirements, and manage the execution of funded projects to drive our mission forward. 

  • You manage public funding programs for current Climeworks projects in the North American market. 

  • You coordinate and draft subsidy and grant applications for the North American market. 

  • You ensure compliance with awarded grants for Climeworks projects in the North American market. 

  • You work closely with internal teams, including legal, finance, compliance, and project management, to ensure all grant activities comply with federal regulations and specific grant conditions. 

  • You interface with external parties, such as government agencies, auditors, and prime contractors, to manage compliance requirements, facilitate audits, and address any compliance issues promptly. 

  • You have a bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, finance, environmental science, engineering, or a related field. 

  • You bring a minimum of 5 years of explicit public funding experience, either in raising or granting public funding paired with knowledge of federal regulations such as 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance) and other relevant compliance requirements. 

  • You bring a network of contacts in relevant public funding providers in North America. 

  • You gained a deep understanding of federal funding mechanisms, government policies, statutes, and regulations through either successfully acquiring public funding on the corporate side or orchestrating the provision of public funding to recipients.  

  • You have the ability to plan, execute, and oversee grant-funded projects and coordinate cross-functional teams. 

  • You have a demonstrated ability to anticipate needs, identify potential issues, and implement solutions proactively. 

  • You are willing to travel up to 20%.
