Job Description

Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) has the fastest, lowest cost path to commercial fusion energy.CFS is collaborating with MIT to leverage decades of research combined with new groundbreaking high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet technology. HTS magnets will enable compact fusion power plants that can be constructed faster and at lower cost. The mission is to deploy fusion power plants to meet global decarbonization goals as fast as possible. To execute this plan, we are looking to add talented people to the team who are mission-driven and treat people well, improve our team by adding diverse perspectives and new ways of solving problems, have demonstrated exceptional results through a range of different pursuits, and have skill sets and experience that relate to this role.You will manage a complex multi-level supply plan to ensure that supply and demand for critical magnet system raw materials, outside processing, and structural components are aligned to support the production plan. You will nurture a culture of open communication and collaboration.

This team member will:

  • Execute the CFS inventory management process and controls for magnet systems
  • Negotiate internally & externally to ensure resources are appropriately allocated
  • Provide constant, clear, and timely updates to internal customers
  • Monitor and report supply risk mitigation strategies
  • Be the link between Suppliers, Supply Chain Planning and Manufacturing - share schedules, deadlines, resources.
  • Be the link between Inventory and Finance/Accounting - track inventory usage and spending, and surplus accumulation.
  • Work with team leaders to plan for future needs in addition to known projects.
  • Set up tools and documentation
  • Manage Material Resource Planning (MRP) alignment and scheduling for commodity and its products

The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or Finance
  • Master's degree is a plus
  • 5+ years experience in Manufacturing, Planning or Supply Chain
  • Experience with resource allocation
  • Experience in manufacturing environment
  • Experience with ERP and MRP systems

Additional experience and/or qualifications:

  • Experience in a start-up or high growth environment
  • Experience with model based manufacturing & exceptional understanding of how to read blueprints/drawings/models
  • General understanding of enterprise quality system functionality (e.g., ISO 9000, AS9100, TS16949, etc.)
  • Strong, demonstrated understanding of ERP systems and MRP logicDemonstrated experience with mBOM and eBOM translation
  • Demonstrate organizational skills and accuracy, with the ability to prioritize job functions to meet deadlines and ensure smooth workflow and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Have strong relationship building skills, and the ability to interact and work effectively with many levels of personnel and suppliers
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs
  • Working conditions includes strong magnetic fields, cold, and solder
