Quality Engineering Lead

The Quality Engineering Lead will build out the existing quality systems in Buffalo and Somerville. This includes synchronizing the work of product Engineering (headquarters) with manufacturing Engineering (factory). It also includes creating systems to ensure product conformance to external standards (UL, CE, ROHS, etc.), internal standards (manufacturing and test specifications), and customer standards. This position--which will be SparkCharge’s first fulltime quality professional--is based in our manufacturing facility in Buffalo, NY. It will include travel to our Somerville headquarters and to customers.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the company’s subject matter expert for all quality-related matters.
• Ensure the completion of all quality-related tasks throughout the company.
• Develop and implement in-process and final product inspection plans at the factory.
• Develop and implement systems to ensure product conformance with industry and customer requirements.
• Develop and implement systems to ensure engineering and manufacturing communications about product specifications are tightly synchronized.
• Establish supplier monitoring process.
• Collect, distribute, and maintain certificates of compliance/conformance.
• Maintain and report all quality-related metrics.

Requirements

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Must have seven or more years of hands-on experience with manufacturing quality systems in a product-based company.
• Must demonstrate an ability to write clear prose about technical subjects.
• Must have experience working with engineered technical products.
• Must show a base level of familiarity with electronics and electrical systems.
• Experience in the electric vehicle (EV) or EV charging market is a plus.
• Experience with inventory and quality management software a plus.
