Job Description

Nature’s Fynd is a groundbreaking food tech company born out of NASA-supported research on extremophiles in the geothermal pools of Yellowstone National Park. Our novel fermentation technology produces a sustainable source of complete protein using only a fraction of the resources required by traditional agriculture. As the challenge to feed the world’s expanding population grows, our mission is to create amazing foods and materials that provide sustainable choices and nurture the planet.We’re looking for passionate, driven, and ambitious people to join our fast-growing team.Purpose of this role is to perform all aspects of quality assurance programs in compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements. This role will handle sample prep, creation of standard solutions, and other duties as assigned. This role reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager. This is a contract position with possibility for extension.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for collecting samples form the manufacturing area and perform routine nutritional analysis.
  • Responsible for sample preparation, weighing, filtering, and running on analytical equipment.
  • Responsible for assisting and submitting (as needed) samples to other internal and external laboratories.
  • Responsible for performing daily equipment calibrations as needed.
  • Willing to learn other quality laboratory instrumentation and to be trained by other personnel
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of analytical chemistry, instrumentation, and laboratory techniques including QA/QC programs.
  • Understanding of GMPs, GLPs, and knowledge of FDA food regulations a plus.
  • Working knowledge of word, excel, access, and other databases (and willing to learn new platforms).
  • Ability to follow verbal instruction, written procedures, protocols, SOPs, and sequence activities.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time (4 hours or more) and lift 50 lbs.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and on a team.
  • Organization and record keeping a must.
  • Self-starter that can take the lead on daily required activities.
  • Must keep laboratory equipment, space, and work area clean.

Education and Experience

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred but will accept experience over education (entry level is acceptable).
  • 0-2 years’ experience in analytical and wet chemistry, preferably with chromatography in LCMS/HPLC.
