Kanop is seeking a talented individual with infinite curiosity to join our mission: help nature-based solutions reach their full potential in the fight against climate change. At kanop, you will work side by side with the founders to better support forestry projects.

Responsibilities

At kanop, you will have the ownership of some R&D projects. In a nutshell, you will be focused on:

• Improving computer vision models
• Designing relevant testing methodologies
• Reporting results to the team and clients
• Shipping models to production

What we are looking for

• Have a solid understanding of how machine learning models work
• Implemented successfully a machine learning model that went to production
• Previous experience in an analytical job (data analyst for instance)
• Recent master graduate in one of the following disciplines (computer science, mathematics, artificial intelligence)
• Perfectly fluent in English and in Python (French is a plus)
• Balance speed and quality, with a focus on tangible results
• Team spirit & great communication skills
• Problem-solver mindset with a deep understanding of the business stakes
• Humble and curious with a big appetite to learn discover and experiment new things
• Propose initiatives to improve our product or how we operate
• Accustomed to fast-paced learning environments

About us

Climate change is heating the world and the United Nations declared that 2021–2030 will be the decade for ecosystem restoration.

Nature-based solutions have a huge potential to mitigate climate change at scale by sequestering carbon, while providing substantial co-benefits such as biodiversity conservation.

At kanop, we also think that forests are part of the solution so we help project developers scale their operations. We leverage satellite data and state-of-the-art AI models to accurately measure ecosystem services that forests provide.
