This includes mechanical components and also basic chemical preparation/handling. The test engineering team focuses on scaling up our DAC technology and the job requires solution oriented, ambitious people willing to work on multidisciplinary challenges. How you'll contribute <ul><li>Take responsibility for the operation, inspection, and maintenance of our DAC prototypes and pilot-plants.</li><li>Ensure safe handling of chemicals and components, strictly adhering to health and safety standards.</li><li>Develop test plans and document and analyze test results.</li><li>Support the setup and testing of mechanical and chemical systems, ensuring they operate at optimal performance levels.</li><li>Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve plant issues efficiently and effectively. </li><li>Maintain detailed and accurate records of all tests, inspections, repairs, and system updates.</li><li>Work collaboratively with engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless and efficient plant operations.</li></ul>Actively contribute to regular test engineering meetings by providing insights and suggestions for improving test stand operations and processes. Your first 12 months in the role: expectations and deliverablesMonths 0-3<ul><li>Complete onboarding and comprehensive safety training programs to ensure readiness for plant operations.</li><li>Familiarize yourself with plant equipment, chemical handling protocols, and safety guidelines.</li><li>Shadow experienced team members to understand workflows, operational best practices, and the functioning of different test stands and their components.</li><li>Assist with basic tasks, progressively taking on simple assignments independently.</li><li>Build foundational skills in using PLCs and HMIs.</li></ul>Months 3-6 <ul><li>Take on more complex tasks with limited supervision, demonstrating growing independence and technical confidence.</li><li>Take responsibility for the independent operation of our plants and the maintenance of important mechanical components.</li><li>Contribute to troubleshooting and minor repair tasks under guidance, improving problem-solving capabilities.</li><li>Begin working with advanced tools and software, including gaining familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Software (MES) used at Greenlyte Carbon Technologies.</li><li>Show increased accountability by taking ownership of common shop-floor responsibilities and operations.</li></ul>Months 6-12 <ul><li>Independently manage routine testing, maintenance, and operational tasks with confidence and precision.</li><li>Lead smaller projects or testing initiatives, requiring minimal oversight.</li><li>Demonstrate advanced skills in troubleshooting mechanical and chemical systems, providing effective solutions.</li><li>Mentor and train new or junior team members in operational procedures and best practices.</li><li>Actively participate in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance plant efficiency.</li><li>Expand your knowledge of advanced tools, systems, and emerging technologies to stay ahead in the field.</li></ul> About you <ul><li>Ausbildung in a technical profession (desirably "Industriemeister" or "Techniker") or Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.</li><li>Hands-on knowledge of pumps, pipes, fittings, and industrial maintenance techniques as well as handling chemical and planing experiments.</li><li>Familiarity with safety protocols, industry regulations, and basic chemical handling.</li><li>Proficiency in English; German is a plus.</li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team.</li><li>Physical ability to handle heavy equipment and work in a chemical plant setting.</li><li>Willingness to work in varying conditions while adhering to strict safety standards.</li><li>Class B driver's license (car) is required to reach nearby facilities.</li></ul>Additional, nice to have requirements:<ul><li>Experience in a mechanical plant or chemical processing environment.</li><li>Basic skills in PLCs and HMIs, with strong problem-solving and attention to detail.</li></ul> What we offer <ul><li>30 days vacation plus public holidays to ensure you also have the down time needed to rest and recharge.</li><li>The possibility to grow and shape your role.</li><li>Working with founders who understand - and invest time in - the importance of building a healthy and sustainable organization.</li><li>Open and transparent communication on company development.</li></ul> Noteworthy points <ul><li>This role cannot be done fully remotely. GCT operates a low energy DAC approach to capture CO2 while generating hydrogen as a byproduct. The process consists of 3 main process steps. Absorption in a liquid, precipitation and desorption through alkaline electrolysis. The technology is based on 15 years of research with relevant patent applications filed and working prototypes. The company was founded as a university spin-out by 2 serial entrepreneurs and an experienced DAC researcher.
