We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.</div>What you'll do:<ul><li>Lead the high voltage power system (HVPS) hardware design for Archer’s hybrid propulsion system </li><li>Be the primary interface between the HVPS team and the hybrid aircraft program team</li><li>Own external HV battery envelope and integration in the aircraft</li><li>Own the top level battery pack assembly and manage internal interfaces between subsystems, ensuring that everything can assemble and function as expected. Work with battery design engineers to allocate space for thermal, structural, electrical components. Conduct necessary tolerance analyses.</li><li>Optimize HV distribution and support system level trade studies </li><li>Lead weekly battery pack CAD reviews and flythroughs. Ensure CAD cleanliness to Archer standards.</li><li>Collaborate with systems engineering teams to review/approve HVPS requirements, using analysis/prototypes/experience to ensure the high voltage architecture can meet the design intent and requirements</li><li>Work with the test and integration teams to ensure performance requirements are met at both the bench and aircraft levels</li><li>Work with the manufacturing engineering team to support process feasibility studies and pre-production builds</li></ul> What you need:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field</li><li>5+ years of mechanical design experience</li><li>Experience with HV systems</li><li>Hybrid propulsion experience is a plus but not required</li><li>Expert understanding of efficient mechanical/thermal/electrical design. </li><li>Knows how to use simplified tools, calculations, CAE to quickly drive development.</li><li>Solid background in CAD / tolerance stack / GD&amp;T (NX experience preferred)</li><li>Experience going  through the product development process from concept to high volume production.</li><li>Developed parts with a number of manufacturing processes: laser welding, stamping, composites, adhesives, brazing, ultrasonic welding, fastening.</li><li>Familiar with UN38.3, IEC, UL, and ISO standards as they pertain to HV batteries.</li></ul> At Archer we aim to attract, retain, and motivate talent that possess the skills and leadership necessary to grow our business.
