We develop evaluation systems that assess the safety, compliance, and service quality of NuroDriver to identify ways we can improve the performance of our ML and robotics systems. This role can have any of the following forms (or the combination of any subset):<ul><li>High-output Generalist working at the interface of infrastructure and robotics. Such a role would develop Robotics domain knowledge over time to eventually also perform the functions below.</li><li>Robotics Expert working closely with the ML teams to develop targeted evaluation algorithms powered by classical robotics (e.g. 3D geometry or prediction algorithms), ML techniques (e.g. reward modeling), or statistical methods (e.g. hypothesis testing).</li></ul>About the Work<ul><li>Design and deploy algorithms to measure the performance of the ML models that power our self-driving car's behavior, using robotics, physics, and machine learning.</li><li>Work cross-functionally with ML and Infrastructure engineers to set the technical roadmap that will continuously improve and unify the evaluation frameworks across Nuro.</li><li>Leverage the evaluation algorithms and frameworks our team builds to identify ways to improve the performance of NuroDriver and then drive the technical execution of such improvements.</li></ul>About You<ul><li>BS in Computer Science, Robotics, Statistics, Physics, Math or another quantitative area.</li><li>4 years of industry experience and demonstrated Python proficiency through past work.</li><li>Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical projects from design to completion.</li></ul>Bonus Points<ul><li>Experience developing evaluation frameworks, machine learning models, or robotics systems.</li><li>Experience iterating on product vision together with Product Managers and Executive Leadership.</li></ul> At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected base pay range is between $222,775 and $333,925 for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply.
