Job Description

Project:

Prospect Pre-Treatment Plant, a vital infrastructure project aimed at safeguarding Sydney’s water supply.

The facility will ensure that residents across the city continue to receive safe, secure, and reliable drinking water, especially during periods of compromised water quality caused by storms, droughts, or bushfires.

Opportunity:
Acciona are seeking an experienced Project Engineer for Civils to join our expanding team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of structural engineering aspects as well as safety documentation to procurement and construction budgeting.

  • Manage internal and external resources, liaising with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met.

  • Oversee tender development and submission, ensuring compliance with technical and financial requirements.

  • Monitor project progress, focusing on cost control, time management, scope, and quality.

  • Provide technical, safety, and quality support to ensure compliance with HSEQ standards throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Act as a mentor for junior engineers, providing guidance, motivation, and professional development.

  • Coordinate subcontractors, ensuring their capacity to meet project deadlines and compliance with safety standards.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate reports on project performance, including weekly and monthly updates to senior management.

  • Ensure that quality management systems are implemented and adhered to, including inspection and test plans, as-built documentation, and defect remediation.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.

  • Proven experience with tender processes, including the origination and delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, contracts, and schedules effectively.

  • Strong understanding of HSEQ standards and construction safety regulations.

  • Proficiency in project management software and MS Office, with experience in cost control systems.

  • Ability to lead, communicate, and collaborate across multiple teams and external stakeholders.
