Job Description:
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Interface and Possessions Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.
About the Position
Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD that will unlock a bottleneck at the core of the rail network and that will transform the way we travel across the whole of Southeast Queensland.
It will include four new underground stations through the middle of Brisbane, provide a new above-ground station at the RNA Showgrounds, upgrade six stations between Fairfield and Salisbury, deliver three new stations on the Gold Coast and introduce a new world-class signalling system to the wider SEQ rail network.
The Interface & Possessions Manager will be responsible for managing the interfaces between the Alliance and 3rd Parties (engineering, access, handover, readiness interfaces). Building and managing effective relationships across multiple interfaces to achieve optimum performance outcomes. Identifying and managing key risks throughout project works and recommending appropriate solutions.
Key accountabilities include:
Manage the interfaces between the project and third parties contributing to optimal development and program set up for successful procurement and delivery.
Provide input into contract development to maximise efficiencies in the delivery and operations of the projects and resolving issues and conflicting requirements in a timely manner.
Engage with key third party stakeholders effected by project works to understand their needs and concerns, taking measures to maintain effective relationships throughout the project.
Proactively deliver track access and operational interface elements of projects within timescales during both planning and implementation.
Attend Possession & Interface meetings to ensure appropriate access is secured.
Manage the Site Access & Integration team to ensure processes are followed to book/confirm appropriate possessions and site access.
Contribute to the development of an Interface Management Plan, monitoring and coordinating implementation.
Provide input and solutions, which allow for minimal third-party impact, whilst maintaining commercially effective project delivery.
Produce and maintain appropriate, standardized documents and regular reporting to the senior management team.
Ensure a collaborative approach is maintained across the team (internal & external) to facilitate the planning and delivery of interface works.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Minimum of 5 years railway operations experience of which 2 years should include planning/management of engineering work.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Signalling Systems or Rail Construction and demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
Extensive experience working in a commercial environment, with a capacity to demonstrate strong commercial acumen and understanding of commercial success drivers.
Demonstrated experience in successfully leading the development and implementation of the third-party interface agreements for major infrastructure projects.
Experience with and a sound understanding of the legislation, policy, processes and practices involved in planning for and delivering major projects within a government setting.
The ability to prioritise workload and achieve objectives.
A proven record of accomplishment of delivery, with demonstrable ability to form effective working relationships.
Thorough knowledge of the rulebook, railway operating rules, regulations for train signalling and group standards.
Good communication skills both written and verbal.
Proficiency in all Microsoft applications.
