About this role:

The Manufacturing Engineer will partner with the design, production, procurement, and inventory teams to implement industry leading manufacturing solutions, while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for interpreting, translating, and migrating engineering design documentation into the manufacturing and production systems.

A day in the life:

  • This position will report to the Director of Engineering

  • Interpretation of mechanical and electrical engineering design documentation. Notably, fabrication drawings, power electronics and industrial controls schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering Bills of Materials, etc.

  • Translation of design engineering documentation into production specific information. E.g. extracting raw materials, modified parts, and purchased parts from engineered Bills of Material (BOMs).

  • Develop, improve, and optimize manufacturing systems, processes, and practices for power electronics assemblies and components.

  • Develop, oversee, and drive improvements in production tooling, fixturing, and material flows.

  • Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) in product development, by supporting the engineering design team.

  • Troubleshoot existing production challenges to improve yield and efficiency in a timely manner.

  • Generate and maintain Manufacturing Processes and Manufacturing Work Instructions, while working with Engineering’s Document Control.

  • Consult with the quality team to ensure compliance with industry standards and certifications (e.g., ISO, UL) 

  • Drive First Pass Yield (FPY) and Overall Process Effectiveness (OPE) improvement.

  • Additional duties as necessary to advance the mission of the organization.

You will thrive in this role if:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an mechanical or Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.

  • 5-7 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in power electronics or related industry.

  • Leadership experience a plus

  • Excellent communications skills

  • Organized and meticulous

  • Exposure to manufacturing, mechanical machinery, power electronics, or industrial controls

  • Willingness to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

  • Experience reading and interpreting fabrication drawings and/or electrical schematics, and Engineering Bills of Materials

  • Exposure to 3D and 2D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD)

  • Familiarity with typical productivity software (Xcel, Word, PowerPoint, SmartSheets, etc.)

Compensation Range:

Compensation will be paid in the range of $120,000 - $140,000. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Pay to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data
