Our commercial and industrial customers and grid services partners generate cash by allowing Voltus to maximize the value of their flexible load, distributed generation, energy storage, energy efficiency, and electric vehicle resources in these markets. Position Description:Voltus has an immediate opening for a Director of People Operations (DPO) who is excited to lock arms with the VP of People and Culture and the Voltus leadership team to ensure the delivery of exceptional HR systems and operations. The Director of People Operations is essential to delivering on Voltus’s aspiration is to be the best professional experience of every Voltan’s life.The DPO is responsible for developing and executing the structures that support the strategy and business objectives of the People and Culture function including recruiting, talent management, succession planning, organizational and performance management, training and development, policy, compensation and benefits, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. The DPO is a player/coach who has worn many HR-related functional hats.The DPO epitomizes Voltus's core values of Bright, Gritty, and Good, and has a deep desire to help us achieve our mission to use distributed energy resources to accelerate the energy transition. Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute our people processes, operations, and policies in support of business goals and to protect corporate interests on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.Administer the company’s people operations, including recruiting, talent management, succession planning, organizational and performance management, training and development, policy, compensation and benefits, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.Develop the systems and processes that ensure our employee relations process is best-in-class, ensuring smooth onboarding, ongoing happiness and productivity, and offboarding in a manner that enhances the Voltus brand.Lead benefits administration, including employee education on open enrollment and other benefit initiatives, as well as benchmarking of benefits to ensure a competitively superior offering.Help execute the administration of annual people cycles (engagement, compensation, feedback, performance management, HAP surveys).Collaborate with the VP of People and Culture to develop metrics for the company on all people-related matters.Benchmark and recommend new approaches, policies, and practices to continually improve the efficiency of the department and the team. Collaborate with legal on the development, implementation and/or maintenance of Voltus people policies in accordance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.Partner with legal and external counsel to support the employee population requiring sponsorship and related immigration matters.Partner with finance on payroll matters.Partner with legal to develop severance guidelines, prepare severance agreements and ensure payment is made in accordance with terms.Work with VP of People and Culture to continuously nurture and develop Voltus’ unique culture with an emphasis on diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.Required Qualifications:The successful candidate must have deep experience in all aspects of people operations. You have proven critical thinking and analytical skills, as well as the desire and ability to understand the more technical aspects of energy markets and Voltus technology. You are a subject matter expert in HR systems and processes and have proven experience in technology implementations, legal and compliance issues, compensation and benefits, and performance management.You function well in a fast-paced, high growth, deadline-oriented, team-focused, virtual environment where self-initiative emanates from your connection to the Voltus mission, all while handling multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.You are passionate about people, energy and climate issues and evangelize the notion of “doing well by doing good.”Capability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
