Job Description

About this Opportunity

Rachio seeks a Marketing Web Developer (contractor) to manage our e-commerce website, partner with the marketing team to continuously improve the user experience, and ultimately increase sales. You will be the technical lead for rachio.com and other web platforms. Through collaboration with the marketing and sales teams, you will develop insights-driven solutions to complex e-commerce challenges. You will also work directly with the server and mobile app engineering teams on cross-platform projects.

Rachio.com is our largest public-facing asset and most powerful brand property. In this role, you will be able to see the direct impact of your work on key performance indicators and Rachio’s success. You will work with a range of existing systems, as well as assist in developing new web applications to optimize sales for different customer segments. This role will report to the Director of E-commerce and collaborate closely with key stakeholders across the company and some external partners.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain codebase, architecture and deployment process for Rachio.com and associated web platforms
  • Work closely with the Director of E-commerce, marketing and sales teams to analyze business needs and design technological solutions
  • Troubleshoot problems on a variety of web platforms including rachio.com and other subdomains targeted at irrigation professionals and water utility residents
  • Develop and manage highly optimized user web experience, including educational marketing content flow and e-commerce purchase funnel
  • Create and maintain technical documentation that outlines maintenance details
  • Develop new features while ensuring that key tracking initiatives are not disturbed
  • Actively participate in planning sessions and Agile ceremonies
  • Maintain best practices for technical tools and data/privacy
  • Collaborate with other parts of the business and/or third party groups to complete larger projects

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience building mobile-first websites
  • Experience with Javascript (preferably Gatsby/React), AWS (S3), GitHub, HTML/CSS, and the ability to problem solve other modern web technologies
  • Experience with Shopify or related e-commerce sales partner s
  • Experience with headless content management systems (Sanity or similar)
  • Experience with modern first-party data acquisition via JavaScript APIs (Segment.io, Google Tag Manager, Facebook Ads, etc.)
  • Experience with CI/CD build and deployment pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
  • Experience securing PII and financial asset data
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts with both business stakeholders and engineers
  • A dedication to quality control practices such as unit testing, functional testing, automated testing, code review, manual QA, and operational monitoring
  • “Owner’s” attitude. You tackle problems through to solutions and have the ability to work both independently and cross functionally

Compensation

  • The salary range for this role is $75,000 - $95,000
