Job Description
Responsibilities / Tasks
The Service Sales Manager leads all aspects of customer spares sales, service contracts, and support administration, working closely with the Technical Service Manager for cohesive customer support. They maintain high-standard relationships with customers, ensuring satisfaction and delivering GEA service products to boost productivity. The role includes recovering former clients, meeting or exceeding the annual budget, managing margins, and tracking sales performance. They also communicate with the factory and third-party suppliers, ensure CRM system visibility for opportunities, manage customer data per GEA standards, and identify cross-selling opportunities while providing feedback on market changes for future growth.
- Lead and direct all aspects of customer spares sales, service contracts, and support administration.
- Align with the Technical Service Manager to ensure cohesive customer support.
- Manage and develop relationships with existing and potential customers to uphold high standards and ensure satisfaction.
- Deliver GEA service products, to enhance productivity.
- Develop strategic plans for key customers based on their support levels (e.g., Gold, Silver, Bronze).
- Recover former clients who have ceased purchasing GEA products.
- Achieve or exceed the annual budget and maintain margins within agreed guidelines.
- Track sales performance against forecasts and budgets, including aligning CRM and APR reports.
- Communicate effectively with the factory and third-party suppliers for service work and projects.
- Manage and monitor customer data, commercial proposals, and cross-selling opportunities, while adhering to GEA standards and compliance guidelines.
- All activities undertaken with reference to company handbook (inc H & S) & code of GEA compliance. Supervises the performance sales & admin staff against budget & other key KPI’s.
Your Profile / Qualifications
- Degree level qualification desirable e.g business MGT, sales & / or technical qualification.
- Strong Business acumen required
- Customer Service – manage / control difficult customers, customer needs, feedback,
- Proven track record in Service sales MGT
- Proven negotiating skills & cost assertion with customers
- Costings analysis to achieve desired margin / factory issue resolution (warranty / chargeables)
- Clear ability to manage / control the sales process
- Effective time management of the business demands to achieve budget
- Negotiating skills
- IT skills should include (basic) CRM , Effective use of outlook, TEAMS on line meetings – internal / external, costings / analysis using excel reports, PowerPoint presentations
- Use of GEA systems – Workday, Training portal, appropriate sharepoints
- Process management – improve / change
