Job Description

Voltus is in an exciting period of rapid growth! We are looking for a Field Engineering Associate who is passionate about problem solving and helping customers successfully participate in demand response programs.Operations is the “connective tissue” of Voltus. The roles within Ops are very cross functional and require team members who are collaborative and strong communicators. As a member of the Field Operations team, communication spans internal teams as well as customers and contractors. It is critical that you have the ability to be a technical expert, learn new concepts, understand our hardware and industrial and commercial equipment and be eager to learn the energy market programs we participate in. The Field Engineer Associate role is a new role that will help accelerate the Field Ops team projects. Approximately 50% of the role will be managing the data and processes required to install a site. Success in the role leads to the acceleration and optimization of installation projects. The role will also entail leading standard installations, becoming familiar with program participation rules by region and working on 1 -2 strategic projects. The role will require someone who is intellectually curious, detail and solution oriented and possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills. A strong candidate thrives in a fast-paced, customer-centric, technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand the role of demand response and the associated programs
  • Learn the different types of Voltus hardware and installations
  • Support Field Engineer Managers (FEM) and Solution Engineers (SE) with large projects to assure timely completion
  • Manage data input and ensure accurate and updated data exists in our project management / CRM platform
  • Identify data and process improvements for installations
  • Review data and validate existing metering using standard methods
  • Generate and complete pulse request documents
  • Assist with onboarding for enterprise customers
  • Review repair cases and do initial troubleshooting with customers
  • Create curtailment plans for new customers to fit their operational constraints

Requirements

  • Education in the field of Engineering
  • Experience in a role relevant to field engineering; minimum of 1-2 years
  • Excitement to grow into the Field Engineer Manager position
  • Interested in developing and applying project management skill sets
  • Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Exceptional attention to detail and self-initiative
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and written
  • Ability to work independently
  • Familiarity with G-suite, Salesforce & Taskray
