Learn more at li.me!We are seeking an experienced, skilled, and entrepreneurial leader to join as our Chief Business Officer (CBO). The successful candidate will partner closely with our CEO, C-Team, and Board to tackle the highest priority strategic growth initiatives for the organization. This role will oversee Business Development, and Corporate Development teams.The Business Development (BD) team is focused on identifying, negotiating, and developing global partnerships that will help to accelerate Lime’s mission and growth. BD is the function primarily responsible for growing Lime’s business through partnerships, and manages Lime’s 3rd party platform of travel and public transit operators. The Corporate Development team leads the evaluation and execution of Lime’s funding and M&A strategy. This team develops and maintains relationships with players within the industry, understands the changing strategic landscape of transportation, and evaluates potential investments in and acquisitions of businesses. Furthermore, this role will also develop a clear understanding of organizational dynamics and levers while focusing on the external markets in which we operate, to identify opportunities and relationships positioning for growth.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as a member of C-Team at Lime, reporting to the CEO
  • Work closely with the CEO and members of the leadership team and Board of Directors to define Lime’s corporate vision and strategy for long range planning
  • Build and scale new business ideas and revenue opportunities leveraging the Lime platform and network
  • Develop holistic recommendations to continue, stop, or accelerate initiatives, incorporating key factors including competitive advantages, alignment with business priorities, ROI, and execute on these new opportunities
  • Determine opportunities to expand Lime’s domestic and international business through identifying new products launches and service growth
  • Assessing fit, feasibility, and financial impact of new corporate and divisional strategic investments and make appropriate recommendations
  • Shape strategies to create and inform new revenue streams for Lime through sponsorships and alternative monetization approaches
  • Assume full management responsibility for the company’s deal making; including strategies related to development market planning, M&A, fundraising efforts (both private and public)
  • Provide guidance to the company’s growing pipeline of new business opportunities
  • Work with key stakeholders in overall strategy formulation, ensuring that departmental strategies are aligned in order to safeguard against conflict of interests as well as guarantee a unified front in the business’s direction
  • Lead and negotiate significant company deals and financing
  • Support Investor Relations activities and fundraising activities

About you:

  • Relevant Bachelors degree and MBA preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, strategy consulting, and/or operating experience in a corporate development role within private and public companies and/or building a business unit
  • Experience leading global teams directly or cross-functionally, influencing senior leadership, and managing multiple projects with demanding deadlines, changing requirements, and limited resources
  • Ability to think strategically about entire industries and markets to identify new sources of value and build the organizational momentum needed to seize breakout growth trajectories
  • Proven track record in executing all aspects of transactions including experience in equity fundraising (both public & private), M&A, joint ventures, debt capital markets etc
  • Track record should include all elements of a deal, from developing strategy, identifying targets, executing, and assisting in the integration
  • Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities; with the ability to communicate to senior leaders, boards and external business partners.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including a firm grasp of the metrics and financial modeling used by investment professionals to inform valuation
  • Highly entrepreneurial and comfortable working in a fast changing and at times ambiguous environment
  • High-energy, company first, positive attitude: Must be motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environment
