Are you an energy industry leader with experience in production cost modeling? California Energy Commission (CEC) is hiring a Supply Planning Unit Supervisor to lead a technical team on electricity supply modeling to inform the state policy on our path to 100 percent clean electricity. This opportunity is a Program and Project Supervisor, PUC state classification in the Reliability Analysis Branch within the Energy Assessments Division (EAD).

The Supply Planning Unit Supervisor serves as the highest-level resource specialist and performs difficult technical work relating to evaluating current and potential future state electricity supply scenarios for California. EAD assesses California's electricity, natural gas, petroleum, and transportation systems and trends to provide information to the state's decision makers and the public. These assessments inform the development, and implementation, of energy policies that balance the need for adequate resources with economic, public health, safety, and environmental goals.

  • Excellent writing, editing, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Experience in electricity system production cost modeling and/or capacity expansion modeling, a broad understanding of the state’s energy policies, and their impact on energy demand and the state’s electricity system.
