Role Overview:
We are seeking a versatile and self-motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team. This role requires a strong foundation in power distribution, analog circuit design, Project management and Python programming. The ideal candidate will thrive as an individual contributor in a cross-functional team and will be comfortable working on both benchtop and field installations.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, test, and validate hardware systems for mobile power applications.
Write Python scripts to support hardware functionality, including data acquisition, diagnostics, and control systems.
Participate in benchtop testing and troubleshoot hardware prototypes.
Perform field installations, including setup, testing, and troubleshooting in real-world environments.
Manage engineering project deliverables and interface with utilities and AHJs as part of permitting projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, mechanical, and operations teams, to meet project goals.
Document designs, tests, and field findings for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Solid understanding of medium and high voltage power distribution systems and analog circuit design principles.
Proficiency in Python programming for hardware applications.
Experience with hardware testing tools and techniques (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, HV Isolation testing).
Willingness to work hands-on in diverse environments, from the lab to the field.
Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to work independently within a small team.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills:
Creating 1-line and 3-line schematics using industry-standard tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, Solidworks Electrical, or equivalent
Experience with battery systems, energy storage, or power conversion.
Knowledge of embedded systems or microcontroller programming.
Familiarity with safety and compliance standards for power systems.
Travel: Up to 50% travel.
