Job Mission
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team and help us design, prototype and build software and hardware products to massively scale reforestation all around the world. This role will work closely with Product, Design, Manufacturing, and Business teams to define products, set prioritization, and deliver reforestation products to our global partners.   
The mission of the company is to create 3B acres of new forest to solve climate change.  As the Engineering Manager you will contribute to this mission by overseeing the team’s deliverables are met on time and properly tested, ultimately impacting the end user’s ability to successfully reforest land.  As we continue to grow, you will hire and train new engineers to the team allowing us to scale according to Terraformation’s ambitious goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage both the hardware and software engineering teams 
• Recruit and train new team members
• Prioritizing projects while working with Product Management, Design and Manufacturing
• Identify technical requirements for Terraformation’s mobile and web based applications
• Set timeline and deliverables with Head of Product and VP of Product Development

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years experience managing a group of engineers, preferably at a startup 
• 7 years experience with both hardware and software, building robust technology that will be deployed worldwide
• Passion for Terraformation’s mission and highly motivated to help solve the climate crisis
• A strategic thinker and team player, comfortable getting into the weeds to get things done
• Hands-on experience in hardware prototyping, back-end and front-end development
• Good understanding of agile methodologies
• Excellent project management skills
• BSc/MSc in Engineering, Computer Science or relevant technical field
