Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking a full time Technical Support Representative for Innovasea’s Land-Based Aquaculture business. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver, hands-on professional who is a self-starter and enjoys tackling challenges that occur on working fish farms. The position requires working knowledge of PLC-based control systems and associated instrumentation common to the water quality/filtration sector. Candidates must be able to work with occasional ambiguity, but also possesses the ability to work closely with customers and suppliers to identify and repair equipment, both remotely and on-site.   

 

Reporting to the Vice President – Technical and Field Services, the Technical Support Representative will be responsible for remote and on-site support of equipment sold by Innovasea.

 

Primary areas of responsibility include

  • Provide remote and onsite after-sales service to customers, troubleshooting returned/ installed equipment
  • Prepare pre/post site-visit reports for all onsite activities
  • Commission and start up water treatment systems including monitoring and control equipment and provide operator training
  • Assist with QC and functional testing of electrical panels manufactured onsite
  • Cooperate with engineering and sales departments on the development of new products and technologies or solutions and their eventual implementation in the field
  • Track and document customer issues and solutions using Salesforce CRM

 

Required Experience and Skills

  • Strong technical troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and root cause identification skills
  • Experience in PLC control systems
  • Experience in field servicing of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Familiarity with electrical and mechanical drawing sets
  • Must be highly organized. Ability to self-manage time to meet deadlines is essential.
  • Highly detail oriented for thorough troubleshooting and high-quality resolution of customer equipment issues
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals having different levels of technical expertise
  • Strong customer focus and a desire to assist customers in a respectful and timely manner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and ability to work effectively in a highly team-oriented work environment
  • Domestic and limited international travel required (average of 25% travel, but may reach up to 50%)

 

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Electrical panel QC experience


Education

  • AS degree or certificate in electronic engineering technology or equivalent.
