Sr. Staff or Principal OS Security Architect

Team Charter  With offices in San Jose, Munich, Shanghai, and Beijing, the Product Security Department at NIO consists of several cybersecurity-related teams, together providing technical solutions for securing NIO’s products and protecting user privacy. Our security and privacy solutions cover vehicle operating systems, digital architectures, assisted/autonomous driving systems, intelligent cockpit and mobile systems, V2X, etc. 

Responsibilities

• Design OS and low-level security mechanisms for intelligent vehicles, such as trusted execution or confidential computing environments, authentication and attestation capabilities, access control and resource isolation, data security and privacy enhancements, etc.
• Design and implement the security features (software or hardware) for NIO’s next-generation digital platform, supporting the autonomous driving systems, intelligent cockpit, smart body/motion control, etc.
• Designing the in-depth defense framework for vehicle networks, including on-car networks, V2X, connected services and devices, etc.
• Designing security solutions for assisted/autonomous driving algorithms and systems, enhancing the robustness against manipulation and interference.
• Designing automated program/firmware security testing tools, including static/dynamic analyzers, emulation frameworks, formal verification tools and methods, etc. 

Qualifications

• Rich experience with security architecture design and systems security research, familiar with security product design and delivery
• Good at discovering and understanding customers’ needs
• Good communication and teamworking skills
• Deep understanding of the following technical areas (one or more)
• Hardware-based security (TEE, TPM, HSM, etc.)
• Security of real-time/embedded systems, virtualization, and operating systems (Linux, QNX, FreeRTOS, seL4, etc.)
• AI security and robustness
• Applied Cryptography, privacy-preserving techniques
• Network and protocol security
• Automated program analysis and testing for security
