About the Role:

The Customer Platform team is making Planet data accessible to Planet customers. As a senior product manager, you are responsible for understanding customer needs and pain points to build the strategy for the customer management team. You will be primarily responsible for the Customer Management layers for the world’s most extensive collection of satellite imagery. Enabling customer understanding of their account usage and upgrading their access over time is central to this role. More specifically, you will oversee the development of our access, metering and authentication tools.  You’ll be driving the product strategy for User Access that enables a rich ecosystem of customers and partners who access our image library and satellite tasking resources. Your position is vital to the organization -- helping to ensure that our new user funnel is healthy by owning user metrics that fulfill our goal of self-serve democratized access to space imaging. If you love complex technical challenges this position is for you. You will collaborate across many application teams to drive how to build and extend the framework and have immediate impact on internal and external stakeholders’ experience.

 

 

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of product management experience
  • 10+ years of experience being part of a cross-functional product development team 
  • Ability to coordinate people and technical resources across multiple areas of the company
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at the technical level
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills
  • The ability to make decisions that align with Planet’s technical and strategic roadmap as well as Planet’s core values
  • Customer-focused problem solving through user research, driving for results, and clear communication of new capabilities. 

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • 2+ years experience with SaaS 
  • Strong intuitive grasp on User Administration, Access and Quota/Usage paradigms
  • Technical fluency; ability to understand and discuss architectural concepts, schedule tradeoffs and new opportunities with technical team members

Compensation (only applicable for Colorado applicants):

The base pay range targeted for this position in Colorado is: $138,600 - $211,500. This role is eligible for bonus and equity.

The actual offer, including the compensation package, is determined based on multiple factors, including experience, location, and other business considerations.

Planet is registered as an employer in many, but not all, states. If you are not able to work from a state where Planet is registered, you will not be eligible for employment.
