The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a strategic product marketer to join the marketing team at Sofar. You will be the product marketing expert on the team and instrumental in understanding our customers, developing messaging & positioning, and telling our story. You will excel in an “all hands on deck” environment, solve strategic business challenges, and thrive in a startup culture. As a founding member of Sofar’s marketing team, this is a great opportunity to grow with a fast-growing startup. You will report to the Head of Marketing.

What you will do:

  • Develop a deep understanding of customers, products, and the buyer’s journey, and act as the marketing subject matter expert on all products
  • Develop messaging, positioning, and create user/buyer personas across all products and be the voice of the customer
  • Distill key functionality and benefits into core product marketing messaging
  • Develop and execute on product based go-to-market plans
  • Build marketing content including product and solution collateral and assets to align with the buyer’s journey and for campaign optimization
  • Write product and solution messaging for press release, website, newsletters, product guides, and more
  • Partner with the product team on product messaging, features/release, and product launches
  • Collaborate with the broader GTM team (sales and marketing) to drive efforts to build brand awareness, pipeline/revenue, and undertake sales enablement activities
  • Drive thought leadership and best practices via blogs, videos, webinars, whitepapers, datasheets, decks, infographics, and more

We're excited about you because you:

  • Are a marketer with 4+ years of B2B SaaS product marketing experience
  • Have a natural empathy and understanding for customer needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable with public speaking and community engagement
  • Proven messaging & positioning skills
  • Have a digital marketing portfolio of produced marketing work
  • Have ocean technology or climate technology experience (a plus)
