Job Description

About VitroLabs: VitroLabs, founded in 2016 and headquartered in Milpitas California, is a biotech company developing a scalable tissue engineering platform for the efficient and environmentally friendly production of leather from only a few cells.  Combining advanced tissue engineering processes with proprietary advances to achieve commercial scale, VitroLabs is on a mission to produce cell cultivated leather that achieves the look, feel and performance of traditional leather without compromise. The composition of the material achieves the complexity of traditional hides without the need to go to animals as an ongoing source of hides. The process is more environmentally sustainable and favorable for animal welfare than that which is used to produce traditional leather.   About the role:

As our first Product Manager, you will help guide our product roadmap and product goal execution to allow VitroLabs to bring the first cultivated leather to the market. This is an exciting opportunity to develop our Product Management function.

Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, you will promote innovation, rapid iteration, and lead future product concept ideation by managing, documenting, and communicating product versions, release criteria, roadmapping processes, and other product-related content and processes.  

About you:

You're a data-driven product expert who is familiar with working in fast-paced, highly-technical environments. You enjoy solving complex problems and have the skills to guide elaborate product projects from start to finish. You have knowledge or a developing interest in cellular agriculture, tissue engineer, and/or deep tech start ups.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in close collaboration with our R&D leadership team to determine product release criteria and maintain product-related technical content including version control
  • Work with the executive team in managing the company roadmap process and formalizing their functional roadmaps
  • Communicate roadmap updates with our internal team and external partners
  • Coordinate with marketing and other internal functions to provide content for their needs: website, LCA, legal projects, etc
  • Identify business partnership opportunities by understanding our markets and our platform capabilities
  • Communicate effectively with R&D team to clarify product targets and help measure the impact of their experiments on product success
  • Give impactful presentations describing the quality and benefits of our products to customers and investors 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of processes involved in managing complex products, i.e. data analysis, roadmap development, resource and time management, risk evaluation, etc.
  • Experience creating detailed powerpoint presentations and slides 
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience writing technical product content and communicating it to all audiences
  • Experience working with multiple software tools for project management, word processing, powerpoint, etc

Compensation:

  • $125,000-140,000 annually
