Develop and maintain internal tools for monitoring system health and performance, ensuring that deployed systems are reliable and functioning correctly
Create and improve tooling to assist in debugging and troubleshooting issues with existing features across the platform, reducing manual intervention wherever possible
Proactively identify potential system issues and bottlenecks, providing solutions to engineering and product to prevent downtime
Maintain system observability by integrating and optimizing logging, metrics, alerting, and tracing across the software stack
Participate in cross-functional team meetings and contribute to Visia's overall product roadmap, helping to shape the future of recycling and green tech
You have 1+ years of experience in a Systems/Site Reliability or Production Engineer role and a passion for ensuring software health and performance
You have strong programming skills in one or more commonly used programming languages (we use Python, TypeScript, and Go among others)
You are familiar with or have experience in:
Systems engineering and site reliability practices
Building and maintaining tools with a focus on observability
Debugging and troubleshooting complex software issues across various computer vision and cloud systems
You are comfortable working with at least some of the following technologies and are excited to learn others as needed:
Cloud computing platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure)
Observability tooling (Datadog, Sentry, Graphana, Prometheus, anything involving OpenTelemetry)
Database languages, tools, and systems (SQL, dbt, Postgres, ClickHouse)
Developing and improving observability tools to track system health and performance metrics across our deployed systems
Creating early warning systems for potential issues in production systems by developing algorithms to ingest and understand live data like metrics, logs, and alerts
Collaborating with data and software engineers to implement best practices for system reliability and optimize platform observability
Salary: $110,000 - $180,000 + options
