The Opportunity To support its growth in plugging orphaned oil and gas wells, Tradewater is seeking an Environmental Project Manager (Engineering) to help fight climate change in a tangible and meaningful way. This position is key to the success of our methane work to prevent the emission of harmful greenhouse gases. The Environmental Project Manager (Engineering) position is hands-on, requiring regular work in the field, working with orphaned oil and gas wells. When not in the field managing the finding of wells, the quantification of their associated fluids, and managing plugging efforts, this role requires collaborating with our pipeline development team, coordinating efforts for trips to the field, data analysis, and providing necessary information for  the carbon credit verification process. Strong candidates will have extensive experience in oil and gas, field experience working on wells, as well as familiarity with carbon project development. While Tradewater is based in Chicago, Illinois, this position is largely remote, and is open to candidates anywhere in the continental U.S. or Canada. Travel up to 30% of the time is expected, and applicants must live in close proximity to a major airport. Applications for this position will be accepted through Friday, January 31.  Key responsibilities include: <ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Working as a part of a team developing a pipeline of orphaned oil and gas well projects.</li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Play a key role in managing our orphaned oil and gas well plugging efforts, from the identification of wells, to the quantification of methane emissions, leading well plugging projects, through to project verification and carbon credit issuance. </li><li style="text-align:justify;">Oversight of in-the-field safety efforts and protocols.</li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Interfacing with internal and external partners to move projects forward, including but not limited to technicians, contractors, other project managers, and government officials. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Processing, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data from analytical equipment, historical records, and a variety of databases. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Researching the technical, market, environmental, and regulatory context of our projects and innovation concepts to identify constraints and opportunities and communicate them clearly in reports, memos, whitepapers, and presentations. </li><li style="text-align:justify;">Understanding governing methodologies, and managing projects to those methodologies to ensure successful carbon credit verification and issuance. </li></ul> Requirements:  <ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred in a scientific or engineering discipline (chemical, petroleum, mechanical, environmental, or industrial). </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">5+ years of professional experience managing oil &amp; gas projects, ideally as a carbon project developer. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Hands-on field experience working with oil and/or gas wells.
