We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance and Accounting team. We need a motivated individual to deliver accurate accounting information and value-added reporting to multiple departments of the Company. This position will work cross-functionally with other groups when making inquiries and obtaining support needed for monthly reporting. This position provides a unique opportunity to have a hybrid role with accounting responsibilities (monthly close) as well as finance responsibilities (budgeting and forecasting). 

Responsibilities

  • Manage Fixed Assets records and compare to the Capital Expenditure Budget
  • Manage fixed asset transactions including CIP, capitalization, depreciation, transfers and disposals
  • Manage vendor advance and vendor deposit accounts
  • Prepare monthly reports, including fixed asset rollforward and CapEx budget vs actual
  • Manage inventory records
  • Work closely with Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams to ensure proper tracking of inventory (receipts, shipments, book-to-physical, cost accounting, disposals, etc)
  • Perform monthly close of spares inventory and aircraft in production
  • Manage lease accounting
  • Ensure all leases are accounted for under ASC 842
  • Prepare monthly lease summary reports
  • Partner with the Facilities and Manufacturing departments as the senior financial analyst
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes for the Facilities and Manufacturing departments
  • Analyze budget-to-actual comparison monthly and present monthly to the Head of Facilities, VP of Manufacturing and Controller
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries as needed (e.g. prepaid assets and accrued liabilities)
  • Create well-documented workpapers and supporting schedules
  • Assist in implementation of new policies and procedures
  • Be an active and supporting team member of the Finance and Accounting department and collaborate across operating functions
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports for financial statements and budgets to be distributed throughout the organization
  • Assist with annual tax compliance and preparation/coordination of annual financial audits

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Strong Accounting background with 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately, and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Highly-organized and strong attention-to-detail
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills to effectively present to and engage with a wide range of audiences
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and business partnering skills
  • Strong computer skills (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Desired

  • Experience with Netsuite and SAP a strong plus
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • CPA license (or pursuing)
