We are looking for an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to join our Finance and Accounting team. The job is hybrid meaning that the person will be working 2 (preferably 3) days a week in our Mountain View office. You will be responsible for the General Accounting and Accounts Payable processes, as well as coordinating the closing process.  We are seeking a highly motivated individual who likes working in an exciting and dynamic environment.  This is a key role to help us assess and implement new accounting processes, procedures, and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, fixed assets, inventory, general ledger, and indirect taxes
  • Manage inventory close and provide proper guidance to senior accountant
  • Manage fixed assets close and provide proper guidance to senior accountant
  • Implement process for allocation of costs (IT, facilities, depreciation, overhead costs to inventory, etc.)
  • Lead the Finance department in month and year-end related closing activities, helping to ensure all financial statements have proper coding and accruals
  • Consolidation and foreign currency transactions & translation
  • Prepare, review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and complement on a monthly basis and ensure financial statements are in accordance with US GAAP
  • Ensure reconciliations of all balance sheet account balances are completed monthly
  • Key supporter of the annual financial audit process
  • Continuously assess current practices and procedures, make recommendations for improvements and implement new practices and procedures where needed that can scale with the Company’s growth
  • Develop relationships within and outside of Finance to understand the current business environment and inputs and outputs of Accounting information. 
  • Improve department efficiency, working on process changes and establishing departmental performance metrics.
  • Maintain a monthly reporting package to senior management covering key financial metrics and performance
  • Preparation of reports and presentations as needed
  • Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
  • Maintain all corporate policies related to accounting matters and ensure controls over all accounting transactions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 8+ years of accounting or financial management experience, including general ledger, month-end close, and reconciliations.
  • Significant experience in working with ERP systems. Netsuite preferred
  • Ability to write organized and accurate reports and other documents.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately, and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and business partnering skills
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills to effectively present to and engage with a wide range of audiences
  • Expertise in MS Excel and exposure to Google Sheets.
  • Highly-organized and strong attention-to-detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately, and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP.  CPA preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections

Desired

  • Experience with Netsuite, and SAP a strong plus
