Pivot Bio is seeking a dynamic and highly creative self-starter as an Employee Communications Director. This is an essential role in our rapidly growing business and will lead the strategic development and execution of all internal communications programs to build internal understanding of the Pivot Bio business, culture, and values. This position will serve as a strategic business partner, providing counsel and executive writing support in addition to managing company-wide employee communications for 250+ employees across existing and future communication channels and vehicles including new and emerging technologies. Must be able to simultaneously manage, coordinate, and execute several complex internal communications projects within tight timelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging communications programs that drive business success through a strong employee understanding of the company’s purpose, values, and business strategies
  • Build an environment of transparency and trust supported by strategic internal programs that empower employees to be brand ambassadors
  • Build a culture of communicators that equips leaders with the information most critical to the company’s success and the tools to help this influential group execute.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and partner with key members of the senior leadership team on key initiatives to help employees manage change and increase engagement.
  • Design and develop standards for communications success, measure reach and impact, and identify areas of future improvement and opportunity.
  • Manage existing internal communications channels (eg: intranet, Slack, email) and identify new and creative ways to support consistency of messages across a diverse, remote workforce across the U.S.
  • Partner with the Human Resources & Office Operations team on issues and opportunities to strengthen internal communications programs and engagement.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 10 years or equivalent professional experience in Corporate Communications, Employee Communications, Media Relations, Public Relations or Marketing or similar field
  • Motivated by a rapidly growing business and the ability to create new programs
  • Ability to build credibility and trust by demonstrating high ethical standards. Extreme discretion, as work may involve confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong communicator, presenter, and writer
  • Effective project manager, able to balance multiple priorities and tasks within tight timeframes
  • Experience in the agriculture and/or synthetic biology industry preferred
