The way we heat and cool our homes is antiquated—we take for granted that we pump fossil fuels into our homes in order to keep them warm.  There is a better way. Spun out of Google X, Dandelion has developed a residential geothermal solution that is clean, safe, and affordable. Dandelion’s proprietary technology, world-class team, and access to capital gives it the advantage to dominate this potentially huge market. We are growing quickly, supported by the ever increasing demand from customers for clean, safe energy.  The front line of our growth is led by a team of Energy Consultants, the experts who help prospective customers understand and purchase a Dandelion geothermal system for their home.  They are our brand ambassadors, supporting our mission to make renewable, high-efficiency technologies accessible to all. 

As an Energy Consultant you will perform (primarily) virtual consultations with prospective customers who are interested in utilizing geothermal for heating and cooling their homes. Energy Consultants are responsible for all aspects of the customer experience prior to transferring the project to the Dandelion Operations Team for permitting and installation. 

During consultations, you'll overview the benefits of Dandelion’s innovative approach to geothermal, assess the home’s existing HVAC system, and walk the client through site viability, economic benefits, ancillary benefits, system features, design explanations, incentives and credits, financing and payment options. Setting accurate expectations, and the ability to confidently and competently deliver the overall value proposition of switching to Dandelion Geothermal is the EC forte.   

To succeed at Dandelion, you must be energetic, highly organized, and hard working. You have a passion for renewable technologies and creating exceptional experiences through your ability to engage with each individual customer. You will be expected to generate a portion of your lead volume with referrals and networking efforts, and meet monthly sales quotas. As a primary representative of the company, you are professional and knowledgeable with strong verbal and written communication skills. You embrace a team ethic and work closely and productively with other departments (Marketing, Design, Customer Care, Field Ops, Finance, etc) to ensure a successful customer journey.


What you'll do:

  • Conduct (primarily) virtual sales of residential geothermal systems; demonstrating value and closing deals while setting accurate and realistic expectations. 
  • Put in the time to become an expert - quickly - in our product and our customers’ home systems.
  • Attend and organize events which present opportunities for engagement and interaction with prospective customers and/or referral sources -- these could be geothermal house parties, home improvement shows, real estate conferences, or green tech webinars.
  • Own full cycle customer service, from consultation to design to financing to contract, and ultimately relationship management and referral generation.

About You:

  • You have a minimum of three (3) years of consultative sales experience -- ideally in Energy, HVAC or a related industry -- with demonstrated success. Experience in virtual/web-based sales is preferred, but not required.
  • You’re a builder, a go-getter, a genuine self-starter-- you get stuff done and promptly.
  • You’re outgoing, warm, and feel confident chatting with new people.
  • You’re a fast learner who holds yourself to high expectations (and meets them).
  • You adhere to realistic timelines and are an expert at managing competing priorities.
  • You appreciate the importance of giving and receiving thoughtful feedback.
  • You’re excited about building a sustainable future through technology.
