What you will do:
This position is responsible for the electronic development and testing of low voltage battery management and ultra capacitor systems used in multiple automotive applications. This position ensures all requirements and development processes are satisfied with a special experience in electronics test development, testing, including EMC engineering of electronics for automotive applications.
How you will do it:
- Perform regulatory and customer requirements analysis and validation planning activities.
- Support design for validation testing through schematic, layout, and analysis reviews with a focus on EMC.
- Create and track component technical EMC, voltage compatibility, and environmental specifications for battery and ultra capacitor electronic systems.
- Perform design verification activities such as, engineering analysis, simulation, design reviews, DFMEAs, and validation reports.
- Perform EMC, voltage compatibility, and environmental testing at Clarios and external testing labs.
- Generate EMC, voltage compatibility, and environmental related test specifications, procedures, plans and reports.
- Support product functional and parametric testing.
- Develop test systems and software utilized in electronics board level testing.
- Work independently on some development tasks while performing other tasks under guidance.
- Author documentation used for the compliance of the design to the requirements.
- Responsible for applying problem solving techniques for test related issues.
- Participant in engineering meetings and reviews, providing direction to assist others in development tasks.
- Supports quoting activities in support of electronics hardware development.
- Knowledgeable of automotive test methods, standards, equipment, and certifications.
- Continually striving towards becoming an expert in automotive battery management electronics
What we look for:
Required:
- BSEE from accredited four-year college or university.
- 3-5 years of professional engineering experience in related field
- 3 years of focused design for EMC
- Strong aptitude for EMC debug and resolution
- Electronics schematic and layout experience with Altium or similar software
- Ability to use electrical engineering equipment such as power supplies, DMM’s, and oscilloscopes
- Collaborative across multiple engineering disciplines
Preferred:
- Understanding of automotive EMC standards. This includes automotive OEM requirements, CISPR25, ISO 11452, ISO 7637, ISO 10605, VDA 320, ISO 21780, and UN ECE R10.
- OE Automotive/Tier 1 electronics experience
- Familiarity with lithium-ion battery electronic design
- Operated EMC testing equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, RF Amplifiers, Antennas, and Transient Generators
- Test software scripting experience with TILE or Python
- Expertise with EMC simulation software such as CST Studio and LTSpice
- Working knowledge of CANalyzer and programming with CAPL
- Familiarity with CAN, LIN, and Ethernet
