As a Mechanic Lead you are the indispensable link within the coolest team in our operation. You are largely responsible for the quality of our city bikes and e-bikes. In addition, you ensure that we are never surprised with our stock amounts! You make sure your team has a safe and fun environment to work in and support them on their growth path. How you pedal us forward:<ul><li>You lead the coolest team within the Swapfiets, consisting of technicians, mechanics, and senior mechanics in our warehouse in Mechelen 💪🏻</li><li>Coordinate daily tasks, host team meetings, inform, and motivate the team to achieve daily targets, while also being responsible for team development</li><li>Create the shift planning for your team</li><li>Lead the Swapfiets quality promise following the standard operating procedures and the quality controls and audits</li><li>Help out with HR related processes such as recruitment, performance management, sickness and leave</li><li>For 30% of your time, you actively support the Team on the floor by handling bike repairs</li><li>Coordinate preparation of new (E-)Bikes and make them roadworthy</li><li>You ensure a safe working environment for everyone</li><li>Support continuous improvement initiatives and special repairs</li><li>You are the main point of contact and support warehouse protocols</li><li>Responsible for providing the repair supply forecast in the S&amp;OE process and the execution of this forecast</li></ul>The gear you need:<ul><li>You have a secondary vocational education (MBO) work/level, preferably in a technical direction</li><li>You have some bike mechanic experience</li><li>You ideally have 1-3 years experience in a process-oriented environment</li><li>You are able to coach and enthuse colleagues</li><li>You are available full time</li><li>You have an eye for detail and a perfectionist streak</li><li>You can communicate well in English and Dutch (French is a big plus) Benefits for a smooth ride </li><li>160 hours of legal vacation with 96 hours of paid reduction working hours (fixed contract)</li><li>1 day of Social Leave (voluntary work) per year</li><li>Your own Swapfiets (lend-lease) 🚲</li><li>An hourly salary of €18.71 </li><li>Lots of responsibility, challenging work, and friendly colleagues</li><li>Travel allowance (if you live more than 11 km away, otherwise you’ll just use your Swapfiets, right.. 😎?)</li><li>We offer you a young dynamic environment, ood working atmosphere and nice colleagues</li><li>Team buildings and BBQ’s </li></ul>Pedalling Towards Inclusivity at Swapfiets! 🚲At Swapfiets, we believe in the power of diversity and inclusivity. Swapfiets has a classic origin. A group of friends who have a good idea and are going to try it out. You receive a Swapfiets for a fixed amount per month and we ensure that your Swapfiets always works.

It turned out to be a very good concept. After a period of refurbishing bicycles, Swapfiets has come to the point that it has designed its own bicycle and that the service is going to more and more cities.

The iconic blue front tire is mounted on all bikes. This way it is always clear which Swapfiets bicycles are and who all belong to the family.

In the meantime, more and more people are discovering the convenience that Swapfiets brings. Great service, made simple.
