Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. We鈥檙e doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.
Senior Network Engineer
Essential Duties:
The Network Engineer role will be responsible for deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, administration, and support of Redwood Material鈥檚 corporate and manufacturing internal network infrastructures. This individual will play a crucial role in maintaining performance, availability, and integrity of network connectivity for operations across the company. Implementing best practices in security at the edge and internally while enabling the business to scale rapidly will also be core to this role.
Responsibilities will include:
- Participate in design, implementation and administration of routing, switching, LAN & WAN architectures, Wi-Fi, and firewall policies
- Support Corporate and Manufacturing / OT operations both local and remote
- Coordinate with construction design & trades
- Partner with cross functional teams to implement solutions for business needs
- Maintain detailed design documents, system architecture diagrams and standard operating procedures
- Work hand in hand with IT & OT teams to implement interface systems such as DMZ鈥檚, firewalls, VPNs, and Layer 3 switches
- Provide break/fix support for network related issues
- Participation in an on-call support rotation
- This role will additionally assist with desktop support functions until a dedicated role is hired for that purpose
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor鈥檚 degree or equivalent experience
- Experience supporting industrial environments
- Experience with construction design & coordination. RCDD or similar qualification is a plus.
- Strong experience in management of routing, switching and tunneling protocols, scalable & redundant infrastructure, and maintaining up-time
- Experience with Palo Alto Networks, Juniper Networks, Cisco, Aruba, or similar hardware

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards
Working Conditions:
- Environment, such as office or outdoors.
- Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time.
- Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
- Occasional work weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job.
- Occasional travel requirements.
The position is located in Ridgeville, South Carolina.
The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
