The FOSTER programme's enhanced internship scheme provides students an opportunity to gain work experience within the growing UK fusion industry. The FOSTER programme is looking to build the talent pipeline into the industry. Over the past three years, 83 students have participated in placements in 20 host organisations around the UK, with many receiving offers of employment after their graduation.

The Diagnostics and Data Team at Tokamak Energy is pleased to offer an exciting summer placement focused on the development of advanced neutron and hard x-ray diagnostics. This initiative is part of a potential collaboration aimed at designing a state-of-the-art neutron system suitable for current and future fusion power plants. This role encompasses experimental work such as radiation measurements, calibrations and programming using Phyton, therefore this placement offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in cutting-edge fusion research while contributing to the development of technologies essential for the future of clean energy.
