Description

Heavy Equipment Operator

Vaulted Deep

Location: Hutchinson, Kansas

Overview of the Role

As a Heavy Equipment Operator at Vaulted, you will be responsible for traveling to waste supplier sites to screen and load organic waste material suitable for Vaulted’s operations. You will operate, monitor, and maintain screening and loading equipment to facilitate the adequate processing of organic waste. You will safely load the organic waste into trucks at waste supplier sites which will then travel to Vaulted’s Great Plains facility. You will strictly comply with the facility’s safety protocol and determine the safety of incoming material.

Ultimately, your work as a Vaulted Heavy Equipment Operator will help to slow climate change by sequestering organic waste that removes harmful Green House Gases (GHGs) from the atmosphere that would otherwise pollute the environment and local communities.

This role pays $23 per hour with pay raises after a 90-day probationary period and ample opportunities for bonuses.

Why This Job is Great

  • Steady income and job stability. Pending success after a 90-day probationary period, this role provides consistent working hours and a regular paycheck with substantial opportunities for pay raises and bonuses.
  • Endless learning opportunities to operate complex machinery and processes. This can enhance your technical and problem-solving skills for future growth at Vaulted and in your career.
  • Work in an outdoor environment where you’re on your feet every day and are solving critical problems to ensure Vaulted’s operations run smoothly.

About Vaulted

Vaulted is an emerging leader in permanent carbon removal. Vaulted takes organic waste sources (biosolids, manure, agricultural waste, paper sludge, etc.) that today are sent to a landfill, dumped into an ocean/river, land applied, or otherwise left to decompose, releasing Green House Gases (GHGs) into the atmosphere. Then, Vaulted uses a slurry sequestration technology that injects and traps the carbon-filled waste underground for 10,000+ years. Our carbon removal goes beyond vaulting carbon - it improves local environmental and human health. Our operations seek to correct historically unjust waste management practices and advance environmental justice.

About the Role

As a Heavy Equipment Operator at Vaulted, you will travel to waste supplier sites to screen, collect, and load organic waste into trucks that will travel to Vaulted’s facility. Responsibilities of this role are as follows (and others that may not be listed):

  • Direct and assist truck drivers into proper position/location for screening and loading at waste supplier sites.
  • Operate feedstock screening equipment that sorts and cleans organic waste.
  • Determine whether the screened waste can be transported to Vaulted’s Great Plains facility for processing and injection. Ensure it does not contain inappropriate material that may harm machinery.

  • Assist with maintenance and quality control of equipment including the front-end loader, pumps, tanks, and processing equipment.
  • Maintain facility grounds by cleaning loose trash and debris.
  • Attend company-sponsored training and meetings as directed.
  • Comply with safety, health, and environmental guidelines of the facility.
