Description

Heavy Equipment Supervisor

Vaulted Deep

Location: Hutchinson, Kansas

As a Heavy Equipment Supervisor at Vaulted, you will be responsible for traveling to waste supplier sites to screen and load organic waste material suitable for Vaulted’s operations. You will oversee, supervise, inspect, schedule, assign, prioritize, and coordinate heavy equipment operators at multiple waste supplier sites (or feedlots).  You will ensure that the organic waste safely travels to Vaulted’s Great Plains facility from multiple waste supplier sites and strictly comply with the facility’s safety protocol to determine the safety of incoming material.

Ultimately, your work as a Vaulted Heavy Equipment Supervisor will help to slow climate change by sequestering organic waste that removes harmful Green House Gases (GHGs) from the atmosphere that would otherwise pollute the environment and local communities.

This role pays $25 per hour with pay raises after a 90-day probationary period and ample opportunities for bonuses.

Why This Job is Great

  • Steady income and job stability. Pending success after a 90-day probationary period, this role provides consistent working hours and a regular paycheck with substantial opportunities for pay raises and bonuses.
  • Endless learning opportunities to operate complex machinery and processes. This can enhance your technical and problem-solving skills for future growth at Vaulted and in your career.
  • Develop valuable leadership skills that can significantly enhance your professional growth and career trajectory.
  • Work in an outdoor environment where you’re on your feet every day and solving critical problems to ensure Vaulted’s operations run smoothly.

About Vaulted

Vaulted is an emerging leader in permanent carbon removal. Vaulted takes organic waste sources (biosolids, manure, agricultural waste, paper sludge, etc.) that today are sent to a landfill, dumped into an ocean/river, land applied, or otherwise left to decompose, releasing Green House Gases (GHGs) into the atmosphere. Then, Vaulted uses a slurry sequestration technology that injects and traps the carbon-filled waste underground for 10,000+ years. Our carbon removal goes beyond vaulting carbon - it improves local environmental and human health. Our operations seek to correct historically unjust waste management practices and advance environmental justice.

About the Role

As a Heavy Equipment Supervisor at Vaulted, your work will help to slow climate change and safeguard your community. By managing teams of heavy equipment operators at waste supplier sites, you will work to ensure that proper organic waste polluting the surrounding environment (i.e., excess manure from farms) gets to Vaulted’s Great Plains facility for deep slurry injection. Your work will help to clean up and protect your community. Responsibilities of this role are as follows (and others that may not be listed):

  • Travel to respective waste supplier sites to manage teams of Heavy Equipment Operators who screen, collect, and load trucks of organic waste that travel to Vaulted’s Great Plains facility.
  • Coordinate work assignments with Vaulted’s Great Plains site manager for efficient resource allocation and usage.
  • Provide technical expertise for screening and loading equipment and processes.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment or identify when professional maintenance is needed.
  • Assist with maintenance and quality control of equipment including the front-end loader, pumps, tanks, and processing equipment when needed.
  • Attend company-sponsored training and meetings as directed.
  • Comply with safety, health, and environmental guidelines of the facility.

This role pays a base compensation of $25 per hour. Operators are eligible to receive extra compensation for overtime work. While the baseline hourly requirement for this role sits at 40 hours/week, most of our operators work an average of 50 hours per week, earning substantial overtime pay. This role also has other benefits: medical, dental, and life insurance, Paid Time Off, 401k with competitive employer match, disability and incentive pay. All benefits will become available to you after a 90-day probationary period.

This position requires roughly 40 hours of work per week with flexibility across all 7 days of the week. Candidates must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holiday hours as needed.
