Twelve is seeking a Mechanical Prototyping Engineer to join our Hardware Team in bringing our technology to new levels of system scale, integration and demonstration, and market readiness.  You will be responsible for qualifying parts after fabrication, assembling pre-production test hardware, and validating build quality by developing and executing well-documented procedures.  You will work within the larger Hardware team to supply systems designed by the mechanical engineering team to the testing team while continuously improving our processes for quality control and high performance. 

What you will do

  • Support and maintain a safe work environment as dictated within a lab atmosphere
  • Conduct tests, analyze data, and present results to cross-functional team
  • Build and assemble prototypes with standard shop tools (i.e 3D printers, drill press) as specified by design engineers 
  • Establish and refine protocols and SOPs
  • Test and qualify parts after fabrication
  • Assemble parts to build desired hardware
  • Validate build quality, work collaboratively with the Engineering team to identify and characterize problems, and apply your ingenuity to develop and evaluate mitigation strategies
  • Work within cross-functional hardware team to continuously improve Twelve’s processes and hardware architecture
  • Track and meet project timelines

Who you are

  • Have 2+ years of hands-on experience in a related commercial/industrial setting
  • Have experience in identifying need for process documentation and refining protocols and data management systems
  • Exhibit consistent follow-through and willingness to collaborate with other team members
  • Clearly communicate project status, issues, and uncertainties  
  • Are proficient in software Microsoft Office and data management and statistical software
