Job Brief

The Electrochemistry team is responsible for testing and optimizing the performance of membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) for Twelve’s electrochemical CO2 reduction process under a range of conditions. As a Senior Engineer on the Electrochemistry team, you will be responsible for designing and conducting electrochemical tests. This will include analyzing experimental results, diagnosing failure mechanisms using electrochemical and physical characterizations to guide future directions, and assisting the development and optimization of the reactor for the CO2 conversion process.   

What You Will Do

You will live and breathe innovative experiments at Twelve. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Studying failure mechanisms in CO2 reduction systems
  • Optimizing CO2 conversion processes
  • Analyzing and interpreting experimental data
  • Utilizing experimental data as a means of facilitating cross-functional discussions and guiding experimental plans 
  • Troubleshooting & testing on test stand

Additional responsibilities might include: 

  • Mentoring junior members of the testing team. 
  • Documenting procedures in order to create shared knowledge
  • Preparing presentations and data analysis with wider technical teams. 

Who You Are

  • Degree in a STEM field required - chemistry or chemical engineering is preferred.
    • Bachelors with 5+ years of relevant experience.
    • Masters with 2-4 years of relevant experience.
    • PhD with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in electrochemistry
  • Familiarity with basic electrochemical and physical characterizations
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience in a research or industrial lab.
  • High attention to detail 
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills. 
  • Adept at working with cross-functional groups with multiple stakeholders.
