We’re looking for a consumer product PR whiz to join the US PR team, reporting to the Director of PR and Communications for the US. The PR Manager, Bird Consumer Products will lead storytelling and communications for our growing fleet of micro electric vehicles designed for private ownership.

The right person is passionate about placing stories about our consumer product line up in consumer and lifestyle spanning print, online and broadcast media. We are looking for someone who still gets that tingling feeling when landing some "ace" coverage.

In this role you will not only pitch stories but you will identify and create story opportunities by engaging with different stakeholders across the business who are focused on scaling our consumer products business.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable rolling up their sleeves and hustling to get the job done. We value grit, integrity, and pushing the limits of what’s possible. You’re a problem-solver and solutions-oriented, bringing fixes to every roadblock and never getting too precious with your ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Drive earned media coverage centered around Bird's consumer product line - event engagements, new product launches, trend pitching, product reviews programs, trendjacking
  • Identify and create story lines to pitch to media that amplifies Bird's consumer product line
  • Partner with retail and distribution partners on joint and complementary PR activities
  • Work cross-functionally with the Marketing, Content, Social and Vehicle teams to develop successful PR initiatives
  • Work independently to drive work to completion, while keeping the team informed on various work streams
  • Communicate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure information is accurate and differentiating

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in PR with a specific focus and experience in consumer products, preferably consumer tech products
  • Excellent understanding of grammar and various writing styles.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with organization and grace.
  • Strong experience with landing PR coverage and managing ongoing programs.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and the fast-pace of a start-up.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High EQ, an ability to influence and motivate people at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and driven. Ability to work independently and within a group setting.
  • High degree of initiative to drive projects to completion.
  • Ability to travel throughout the US for in person product demos and reviews; staff events involving press

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts in related field
