The Project

The Alkimos SeaWater Alliance project will deliver WA's next major water source - A new seawater desalination plant at Alkimos. At completion of stage 1 the plant will supply up to 50 billion litres of clean, safe drinking water to millions of Western Australians each year.

The Quality and Systems Manager is responsible managing the Project’s quality team, processes and systems. This leadership role will lead the quality team to work collaboratively with design, procurement, construction and commissioning to deliver a world-class asset.

The role is critical for leading a team that ensures the integration of functional processes, management systems, compliance with stringent quality standards, design requirements, and adherence to project-specific documentation, testing, and audit requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Management of collaboration and development of interfaces between design, procurement and construction. Managing quality assurance strategy and issue resolution for best for Project outcomes
  • Managing a large team consisting of multidiscipline Quality professionals and document controllers. Performance of the quality team’s quality assurance and quality control activities.
  • Developing and implementing quality workflows within RibCx, and PowerBi dashboards. Developing and implementing systems to assure efficient transition from construction to completions and commissioning.
  • Providing advice and guidance to Quality Managers, Area Managers and Package Leads for quality related issues and their implementation of Project Plans, processes and systems
  • Quality reporting and data analysis to top management
  • Monitoring and verifying project works are compliant with the Quality Management System policies and procedures, Project Quality Management Plans, ISO 9001:2015 and client requirements
  • Planning and tracking of internal audit schedule and audits activities. Leading, undertaking and coordinating internal and external audits including consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to apply quality software systems and workflows to meet Project needs
  • Ability to coordinate complex processes and systems across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding, implementation, verification, and validation of the requirements.
  • Ensure process compliance for the project implementation.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills to address real-time challenges in a high-pressure environment.
  • Advanced communication skills for reporting and collaboration with diverse stakeholders

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical qualification with relevant field experience.
  • 5–10 years of quality and completions management experience in major mechanical, electrical, piping infrastructure projects
  • Designing process workflows and applying them within software systems
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and integrate innovative technologies in quality assurance
