Who You Are
We are looking for a Network Engineer, and in this role, you plan, deploy, and monitor SD-WAN and other network protocols, create accurate network diagrams, and ensure redundancy across multiple sites. You troubleshoot performance issues, schedule upgrades, and maintain secure configurations, while collaborating with other teams to uphold SLAs and availability. You also manage centralized configuration of networking devices, use monitoring tools to observe system health, and develop resiliency processes for critical platform components.
Responsibilities and Duties
Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols and SD-WAN
Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
Ability to deploy and manage multiple sites, environments and work to achieve network redundancy
The ability to think through problems and visualize complex solutions
Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with other Data Systems teams
Design, manage, and maintain centralized configuration management of Networking Gear
Build monitoring, supervision, and resiliency mechanisms to observe, react to, and maintain platform health, performance, and security
Develop and support processes to maintain uptime, SLAs, security, and availability of critical platform components
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
8+ years of experience with administering, monitoring, and securing firewalls, routers and switches.
Hands on experience with equipment and software from Cisco, Palo Alto, Arista, Juniper, Fortinet
Configuration Management
AWS VPC, Transit Gateway and Direct Connect is a plus
Experience with High Bandwidth Storage Networks
Experience working with MPLS, VPLS or SD-WAN
Experience with virtual switches in cluster computing environments
Experience supporting Information Security policies, controls, and initiatives
Experience with Operational Technology in a Manufacturing environment a plus
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Experience working in data centers and/or environmentally controlled server rooms
Able to install and cable rack-mounted network systems
Move items up to 50 lbs with the assistance of lift equipment and carts
Move long distances (such as from building to building) and be stationary for extended periods of time
Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier/printer, etc in a fixed location
The starting base pay for this role is between $146,000 and $185,000 at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila’s competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, equity, and bonuses. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. #LI-Hybrid
