Zero Motorcycles is looking for a capable Systems Engineer to join the Electrical Engineering Department to support the development and validation of new system architectures in various applications using automotive industry development practices while meeting Quality, Cost and Timing targets.
We are looking for an individual that can thrive in a dynamic environment and has the enthusiasm to take on new challenges daily. This individual should be capable of developing requirements to convey tasks needed to meet innovative design challenges and take responsibility for the entire electrical system, while relentlessly tracking down details required to successfully complete task and projects championed. This role is an excellent opportunity to have a large amount of input on key products within a great company making cool products.
What you will do:
Focus on system integration of components that will integrate to build the desired product.
Analyze technical requirements and specifications, to meet product level expectations.
Work with designers on implementation of new features and system architectures.
Conduct peer reviews of designs, features, and marketing/engineering specifications.
Work with vendors to qualify parts to meet the needs of the system architecture and the component requirements.
Balance priorities to deliver design qualified and manufactured products on program schedules.
Provide production-release support.
Communicate with management about the design considerations, risks, schedule and balancing technical and business tradeoffs to satisfy the program.
Bachelor’s’ degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience 3+ years exp.
EV/HEV experience.
Automotive experience is desired.
Motorcycle experience and an M1 endorsement is desired.
Location
Our culture is best experienced in person and this role is an onsite position, so the selected candidate will work in the Scotts Valley office — just a short drive from Santa Cruz beaches, and Silicon Valley.
Travel Frequency: Travel for this role will be ~10%, both domestically and internationally.

The estimated salary range for a new hire in this position is $120,000 to $132,000. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include candidate's knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to regular salary, Zero offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) matching plan.
