About the role

The Technical Accounting Manager is responsible for quarterly and annual SEC reporting compliance related to filing forms 10Q and 10K, as well as being the Companies Technical Accounting resource. Manage the Senior Accountant-Financial Reporting.


Who You Are 

  • Responsible for the Company's external SEC financial reporting and filing process for 10-K & 10-Q.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor formal processes to ensure that appropriate evidential support is obtained and maintained to support all disclosures in the Company’s SEC filings and comply with stated SOX controls.
  • Act as technical accounting resource by researching, resolving, and documenting accounting treatment as needed.
  • Review new contracts for significant transactions.
  • Provide guidance to the accounting team to ensure significant transactions are properly disclosed and accounted for, particularly regarding leases and lease modifications.
  • Assess technical accounting guidance to review implications for complex business transactions and prepare written accounting and financial reporting position papers on an as-needed basis for review by management and external auditors
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures when needed.
  • Complete disclosure reporting checklist to ensure the company is in compliance with reporting requirements, identify and assess the impact of new accounting pronouncements and disclosure requirements on the Company.
  • Responsible for performing tie-out procedures on other external financial information, such as earnings releases, earnings call scripts, annual proxy statements, and other ad-hoc financial information, ensuring accuracy and consistency of financial information.
  • Support the annual audit and quarterly review activities with external auditors.
  • Analyze, recommend, and execute process changes for continual improvement.
  • Review GL transactions and assist with month end close and consolidations.
  • Assist with merger & acquisition activities.

Experience & Education Requirements


  • Bachelor or master’s degree in accounting.
  • CPA license with minimum 3 years of Big 4 experience.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in accounting, public company preferred.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with preparing SEC filings required.
  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP including revenue recognition, leases, debt and stock-based compensation.
  • Prefer knowledge of NetSuite or a similar ERP system.
  • Experience with Toppan Merril Bridge or Workiva.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • The successful candidate will be proactive, self-starter, detail-oriented and comfortable in a fast-paced rapidly growing company environment with minimal direction able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to respond to requests effectively and efficiently
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Detail oriented, proactive and service oriented.
