Vaulted Deep

Location: Houston, TX

About Vaulted

Vaulted Deep is a cutting-edge technology company that injects waste deep underground to advance sustainability goals while providing waste management solutions to support clean land, air and water. Vaulted is based in Houston, San Francisco, and Kansas.

With a growing team of 50 people across the country, Vaulted signed a $58.3 million offtake agreement with Frontier, and completed a $32 million Series A round in 2024. Vaulted's proprietary technology builds on decades of expertise to deliver safe, durable carbon and waste management solutions, now, at scale.

About the Role

At Vaulted, we are committed to an ambitious expansion strategy that includes the development of new sites and precise verification of credit generation within our operations. The rate of our expansion and the scalability of our Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) initiatives hinge crucially on our capacity to establish new injection sites across diverse geographical regions and to authenticate the credits generated by our existing operations.

The Subsurface Analyst will be the central hub for gathering, analyzing, and integrating critical surface, environmental, and well data to support engineering studies and location assessments.

This role serves as a key integrator across multiple teams鈥攊ncluding subsurface, engineering, project development and business development 鈥攅nsuring that information flows efficiently between disciplines. You will be responsible for researching and validating high-quality datasets, conducting risk-benefit analyses, and synthesizing findings into actionable insights that directly impact site selection, permitting, and operational strategies.

Beyond technical research and analysis, this role will also support broader business needs, including creating presentations, coordinating events, and handling administrative tasks as they arise. Your ability to adapt to evolving priorities and provide operational support across teams will be critical to our efficiency and execution.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can bridge the gap between data and decision-making. Your work will be instrumental in accelerating deployment by equipping our teams with well-organized, reliable, and strategically relevant data.

In this role, you will:

  • Gather and analyze surface, environmental, and well data to support subsurface studies and project development.
  • Evaluate risks and opportunities associated with potential injection sites, integrating findings into location assessments.
  • Streamline data flow between subsurface, engineering, and project teams, ensuring cross-functional alignment.
  • Develop structured reports and presentations that translate complex data into actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Optimize data acquisition and management, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across Vaulted鈥檚 operations.
  • Support business needs, including preparing presentations, coordinating events, and handling administrative tasks as they arise.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the data backbone of one of the most scalable carbon removal solutions in the world. Your work will directly contribute to climate impact by ensuring our expansion is strategic, efficient, and scientifically robust.

What You Will Bring

The Subsurface Analyst will need to be highly adaptable, detail-oriented, and proactive in solving complex data challenges. As a key link between teams, you must be comfortable navigating large datasets, extracting meaningful insights, and effectively communicating findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

The ideal candidate will have be seeking an entry-level role and:

  • Is a recent graduate
  • Possesses a Bachelor鈥檚 or Technical degree in Engineering, Data Science, Geoinformatics, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field.
  • Has strong analytical skills and experience working with geospatial, environmental, and well data.
  • Has a natural ability to synthesize and communicate findings, ensuring insights translate into actionable strategies.
  • Has experience with data management, visualization, and integration across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Has a proactive, self-driven approach with a strong sense of ownership and urgency.

If you are a data-driven problem solver eager to apply your expertise in support of gigaton-scale carbon removal, we encourage you to apply. Join us in vaulting carbon permanently underground and shaping the future of climate solutions.
